Structure Fire in Clifton Park, New York

The Clifton Park Fire Department (CPFD) was dispatched by Saratoga County Fire Control at approximately 1:30 am for a possible structure fire in the Plank Road Plaza.

Multiple calls of heavy smoke showing had been reported by individuals traveling Interstate-87 southbound which borders the rear of the strip mall. First arriving police units reported fire showing through the roof of the dry cleaners located in the north end of the strip mall.

First arriving CPFD chiefs activated for second alarm mutual aid to the scene and transmitted a working fire.

Crews worked to control flames in dry cleaners and adjacent stores limiting extensive damage dry cleaners and 4-5 small stores in the immediate vicinity of the dry cleaners.

Large bins of clothing and melted plastic hampered crews efforts to control the blaze.

Crews remained on scene throughout the morning as a skid steer was brought in to move the large bins of clothing from inside the dry cleaners.

Saratoga County Cause and Origin Team were also called in to determine the fires cause which had not been determined.

Fire units from Halfmoon, Hillcrest, Jonesville, West Crescent,Vischers Ferry, Round Lake, Waterford, Bought Corners, and Verdoy, with EMS provided by Clifton Park Halfmoon Ambulance Corp were on the scene.
