Home Fire in Hamilton Township, New Jersey

The fire was in a 1 1/2 story private home. Initial arriving companies observed heavy smoke throughout the home and flames from the attic area. Shortly after arrival the home became well involved in fire.

This fire occurred at approximately 10pm, February 19, 2006 at 443 Princeton Avenue in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. The fire was in Hamilton Township Fire District 4's area (Enterprise Fire Company and Hamilton Fire Company). They were assisted by District 2 (Mercerville Fire Company), District 5 (Decou Fire Company), Slackwood Fire Company (Station 21) and several others.

The fire was in a 1 1/2 story private home. Initial arriving companies observed heavy smoke throughout the home and flames from the attic area. Shortly after arrival the home became well involved in fire.

Firefighters attempted to attack the fire from the inside but were hampered by partial collapse of some interior sections and extreme fire conditions.

During the fire, several attempts were made by firefighters to operate inside, but conditions were not favorable and the Incident Commander ordered all firefighters out of the building.

Companies remained on scene for several hours conducting overhaul operations.

Due to the weather, additional companies were called in to assist with manpower.
