The first due engine noticed heavy smoke in the air and requested a second alarm assignment. The first arriving officer reported a two-story structure with heavy smoke and flames showing.

Engine 312 was first on the scene and began the initial fire attack. The second due engine did a reverse lay of 700 ft. of 5 inch hose to a nearby hydrant. Engine 312 was supplying four 1
