On January 23, 2004 the South Lynches Fire Department in Lake City, SC responded to a reported working two-story residential structure fire.
The first due engine noticed heavy smoke in the air and requested a second alarm assignment. The first arriving officer reported a two-story structure with heavy smoke and flames showing.
