ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - At 2pm, on February 20th, Firefighters and Rescue crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue responded to multiple reports of a structure fire at 13915 SW 121st Avenue.

Upon arrival, Engine 15's crew found a fully involved barn with heavy smoke and flames visible through the roof. Because the blaze had also started a brush fire around the structure, a crew from the Division of Forestry and an additional brush truck from ACFR were dispatched.

Firefighters swiftly had both blazes under control. However, due to the extent of the fire upon arrival, the barn and its contents which included several antique cars and an airboat were completely destroyed.

Losses are expected to reach at least $35,000.

The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal at this time.
