On January 1st, 2004, the Grandville, Michigan Fire Department responded to their first fire call of the New Year.

Units were dispatched to a reported car fire on eastbound I-196, east of mile marker 71.

159 arrived on scene to find a mid-sized SUV well involved with fire. E151 arrived on scene and extinguished the fire utilizing the front 2" jump line.

Chief's 160 & 161 assisted with the investigation, which was carburetor related. Grandville Police assisted with traffic control on the busy interstate.
