Sterling, Virginia Firefighters Respond to Two Alarm Townhouse Fire

On 1/13/04 at approximately 1315 hours units from Sterling Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene to find heavy fire in the rear of a lightweight construction middle town home. The afternoon fire was reported by neighbors.

On 1/13/04 at approximately 1315 hours units from Sterling Volunteer Fire Company arrived on scene to find heavy fire in the rear of a lightweight construction middle town home. The afternoon fire was reported by neighbors.

The fire was being fed by natural gas and involved several propane tanks as well. This fire extended into 3 other town homes.

Departments that responded included: Sterling Vol. Fire Company, Loudoun Co. Fire and Rescue, Fairfax Co. Fire and Rescue, and Washington Metropolitan Airport Authority Sterling Vol. Rescue Squad

The fire was rapidly brought under control and firefighters remained on the scene for 2 hours overhauling.

No one was home at the time of the fire and is still under investigation by Loudoun County Fire Marshal. No injuries reported. Four families were displaced by the fire.
