Wheeling, Illinois Firefighters Deal With Plane Crash, Fire

On January 30th, around 6:30 pm, Red Center Fire Dispatch toned out Prospect Heights Firefighters for a plane crash at camp McDonald & Wolf.

On January 30th, around 6:30 pm, Red Center Fire Dispatch toned out Prospect Heights Firefighters for a plane crash at camp McDonald & Wolf.

When pulling out of prospect heights station 39 engine 39 told dispatch that they can see a large header of smoke and an orange glow in the sky in a commercial area.

Engine 39 pulled up to 300 alderman to find the whole back parking lot in flames from the fuel from the plane.

Wheeling Fire Department sent a full response to also there crash trucks to the area due to this building being in there fire protection district.

Crash Truck 23 pulled into the back to find fire fighters from prospect heights fighting this fire and used there deck gun with foam to help fight this fire.

Four people died from this crash and there was no damage to the building itself but some burn damage to some trucks and trailers.
