Bryson City, North Carolina Firefighters Battle House Fire

On Thursday, January 8, 2004 the Bryson City Fire Department, along with automatic mutual aid from Alarka Fire Department, was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire.

On Thursday, January 8, 2004 the Bryson City Fire Department, along with automatic mutual aid from Alarka Fire Department, was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire. The structure was located in the Airport Hill area of Bryson City.

Upon arrival there were visible flames and heavy smoke coming from a 2-story home. An interior attack was quickly made. The fire had spread quickly through the house and attic, leaving approximately 75% of the home destroyed.

Additional units were dispatched from the Qualla Fire Department. A total of 3 departments were dispatched including: 3 pumpers, 2 tankers, and 1 support unit.

No injuries were reported.
