Converse, Texas Fire & EMS Department Handle a MVC

On January 17, 2005 at 4:10 pm, the Converse Fire & EMS Department was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Crash (MVC).

Converse, TX - On January 17, 2005 at 4:10 pm, the Converse Fire & EMS Department was dispatched to a Motor Vehicle Crash (MVC).

Upon arrival the fire department found 2 vehicles that had hit head-on.

Fire Chief Gene Baldwin Jr. arrived on scene first to find one person trapped in one of the cars and a 15 year old female was found dead in the back seat of the other. Four others in the same car had had injuries that ranged from head injuries to minor lacerations.

It took 15 minutes to extricate the female in the other car involved who was alert but had severe lower extremity injuries.

All five patients were transported to a local trauma hospital for treatment. Converse was assisted by Schertz EMS and Metro Ambulance.

This was one of four major accidents that the Converse Fire Department worked in a 3- hour period.
