Peabody, Massachusetts Firefighters Battle 3- Alarm Blaze in Freezing Temps

Peabody Firefighters and numerous surrounding communities responded to a fast moving 3- alarm house fire Sunday January 15th.

Peabody Firefighters and numerous surrounding communities responded to a fast moving 3- alarm house fire Sunday January 15th, at 4 Cottage Street.

Upon arrival companies found heavy fire conditions in the basement and extending up to all floors of a large 2 1/2 story occupied home.

Firefighting operations were hampered by frozen hydrants in the area and outside temperatures of 13 degrees, along with 30mph winds.

Incident command ordered all members out of the building and went into defensive operations about 40 minutes into the fire.

No injuries were reported at the scene and the fire was under investigation.
