On January 05, 2006 at approximately 3:28 am, the Paris Fire Department (Paris, Illinois) responded to Syacamore Hills Country Club, Club house, which housed Marty's restaurant for a fully involved structure with a reported person inside the building.

Upon arrival of the first engine company, it was found well involved and a primary search was initiated in the basement area, but was pushed back out due to extreme heat.

It was later found out that the person was staying at another location that night.

All three shifts from Paris Fire Department were called in using two engines, a one hundred foot tower, and a casade unit, with additional help coming from our county districts, Vermillion Fire, Oliver Fire, Redmon Fire and Grandview Fire Departments, with engines and tankers.

The fire was under control within fifty minutes, but crews stayed on scene for several hours, hitting hot spots and mop up.
