Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania Roof Rescue

Firefighters and Rescue perform the rescue of a worker injured and trapped on a roof of a large steel plant.

At 13:30 the Beaver Falls Fire Department along with Medic Rescue Ambulance was dispatched to a large steel plant on lower Seventh Avenue for a worker injured and trapped on a roof. Upon arrival firefighters found the patient on the roof near the center of the plant. The worker fell from one roof to another and had an apparent fractured leg.

Beaver Falls Tower 11 was positioned at the rear of the building and raised to the roof while firefighters and medics stabilized and packaged the patient. After carrying the patient over several roofs to the awaiting tower he was placed on the stokes jigs and lowered to the ground. The entire extrication took approximately fifteen minutes. The patient was transported to the emergency room for treatment.
