First unit on scene was an Alaska DOT, Barrow Airport ARRF unit, which held the fire in check against an adjoining building, where an aircraft fuel tanker was being stored.

No entry was made because of the size of the fire, and the amount of involvement upon arrival.

Mutual aid was provided by the Barrow Fire Department.

The fire is being investigated with damages estimated to exceed $1 million.
