Shortly after 10:00 am this morning, Union Colony Fire/Rescue , in Greeley Colorado, responded to a house fire 2029 8th St in Greeley. Upon their arrival Fire/Rescue personnel found heavy fire at the rear portion of a 2 story house.

First arriving crews were able to determine that all occupants safely exited the home and were accounted for. Initial firefighting efforts were complicated by a large propane cylinder in the fire area. The cylinder initially fed the flames and then later during the emergency, leaking propane was a concern.

Crews worked for about 2 hours to completely extinguish the fire which was difficult to reach at times because it had spread into the walls, attics, and other concealed spaces. No injuries to citizens or firefighters were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

4 Engine Companies, 1 Ladder Company, 1 Rescue Company, and Command Staff responded to the scene. More information on Union Colony Fire/Rescue can be found at www.UCFRA.org
