Units from the San Jose Fire Department and the Santa Clara County Fire Department responded to a call of a vehicle into a structure at 2542 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose at approximately 12:18 pm on December 21, 2005.

Upon their arrival County Engine 8 confirmed that a Nissan Xterra SUV had struck and entered an office building housing a real estate business. After further investigation they discovered the driver was trapped and required assistance to be freed from the vehicle.

According to witnesses on the scene the driver, an elderly male, drove through the wall and plate glass windows directly into a reception area nearly striking an employee.

The SUV then proceeded to plow through a set of interior doors and into a just vacated conference room where it shattered a conference table, chairs, plants and exterior windows.

Miraculously no one was injured in the business and the driver of the vehicle was able to walk away unharmed.
