Fire Heavily Damages a Home in Scituate, RI

Around 1400 hours on December 4, 2003, the Scituate Police dispatched fire units directly behind the Police Station for a building fire.

Around 1400 hours on December 4, 2003, the Scituate Police dispatched fire units directly behind the Police Station for a building fire.

An engine from nearby Coventry was also dispatched and was the first to arrive.

Firefighters found heavy smoke and fire showing from a 2 story house.

The fire appears to have started on the outside of the structure and spread inside.

Firefighters along with members of the PD stretched an attack line and knocked the outside fire down.

Firefighters then moved in for final extinguishment. Every district in Scituate responded as well as several districts from Coventry and Glocester.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
