On December 1, 2005 Police and Firefighters throughout the country paid their respects to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Naval Shipyard Firefighter Robert Staepel.
He was also President of I A F F Local F 6l, who died on November 25, 2005 from a heart attack. He had participated in a live fire training exercise during his previous workshift.
Four Piper Bands from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York participated in the burial ceremonies. Services were held at the Schetter Funeral Home in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Church Services were held at the St. Joseph's Cathedral in East Camden, New Jersey.
His interment was at The Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
