Vacant House Fire on Thanksgiving in Jackson, Mississippi

The Jackson, Mississippi Fire Department Engine 1, and Engine 3; Rescue 1; Truck 28; and DC1 responded to a vacant house fire in the 800 block of North Street on Thanksgiving Day.

The Jackson, Mississippi Fire Department Engine 1, and Engine 3; Rescue 1; Truck 28; and DC1 responded to a vacant house fire in the 800 block of North Street on Thanksgiving Day.

The one story house was well involved on arrival.

An interior attack was started along with protecting an exposure on side D. After the fire broke through the roof in the rear of the house along with a partial roof collapse, the interior crews were pulled out and a defensive operation was started.

Truck 28 set up and used their water tower to knock the fire down.

After the water tower operation, interior operations started again, hitting hot spots and conducting an extensive overhaul.
