Belington, West Viriginia Firefighters Battle House Fire

At 2301 hours on Saturday, November 5, 2005 Belington Fire Department Station 3 and Junior Fire Department Station 2 were alerted to a structure fire at 204 Howard Street in Belington, West Virginia.

At 2301 hours on Saturday, November 5, 2005 Belington Fire Department Station 3 and Junior Fire Department Station 2 were alerted to a structure fire at 204 Howard Street in Belington, West Virginia.

Engine 35 responded with a crew of 6. As the engine approached the scene, heavy fire was visible from the three-story wood frame dwelling. Mutual aid was immediately requested and engines from Philippi Fire Department Station 4 and Elkins Fire Department Company 40 responded. Engine 35 laid in with a 4 inch supply line.

There was heavy fire on the front half of the structure, with exposures on side one and two. Power lines were burning on side one, stopping Engine 35 from pulling past the scene and protecting the exposure on side two.
