Salem, Wisconsin firefighters requested a fifth alarm for tankers for a large Brush fire at Hooker Lake.

First units on the scene had a fast moving fire moving towards some homes and boat docks. Command requested a special alarm for engines from several towns in Illinois to respond to the scene for manpower.

Kenosha County Airport sent a crash rig to assist with a deck gun for reach.

Firefighters had a hard time reaching some of fire by hand due to two feet of water and mud in this area. While pumping at this alarm down by the Hooker Lake boat launch, Trevor Fire Department Engine 6411 jumped out of pump, drove over the wheel chocks and into Hooker Lake.

The engineer was OK after the engine came to a stop, with the cab under water. Most equipment that could be salvaged was before additional water damage.

A tow truck from Jensen Yowing had to be called in to pull the engine from the water.

No injuries were reported from the accident or fire, both of which are under investigation.
