At 2 AM on October 21, 2003, a Mondauk Commons concession stand brought 38 firefighters out in the middle of the night.

Chief 88, on the scene, reported a fully involved structure fire.

Engine-88 layed into the parking lot area, and E88-1 took the hydrant. Tower 88 also setup in the parking lot and went into service. The crew from E88 pulled (2) 1 3/4", (1) 3" lines for a blitz gun, and also supplied Tower 88.

Crews went into exterior ops, because of heavy fire in the overhang / picnic area. The fire was through the roof of the attached building. Crews knocked down the fire in the picnic area and went onto the roof to vent.

Crews preformed overhaul work after extinguishment, until near 3:30 AM. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
