Northbrook Firefighters responded to the 2200 block of Maple Avenue for a report of a fire in a new house under construction.
First units on scene from station 12 reported that they had heavy smoke and fire in the foundation of a new house.
Firefighters were met by a man that was doing the construction on the lot and told them due to cold weather he was heating up some waterproofing and about 8, 5 gallon buckets were burning.
After finding this out firefighters had to mask up due to the thick black smoke and chemicals that were in this fire.
