NJ Entrapment

The tanker was hauling 6000 gallons of liquid asphalt which spilled into a drainage ditch when the tanker flipped.

The Bridgeport Vol. Fire Dept. responded to a commercial motor vehicle crash with entrapment on October 12.

The initial dispatch came at 5:30 pm to respond to State Highway 295 at US Route 130 for an overturned tanker truck with one person entrapped. Upon arrival Chief M.C. Dombrosky notified Gloucester County Communications that the incident was in Repaupo Vol. Fire Co.'s local and had County dispatch them to the job.

The driver of the truck was heavily entrapped, but not badly injured. Due to the extent of the entrapment, the extrication took three hours.

Upon removal of the victim, he was transported to Cooper Hospital by New Jersey State Police medevac unit.

Additional units responded from Woolwich and Gibbstown Fire Departments, Gloucester County Emergency Management, Valero Refinery Haz-Mat, and Gloucester County Field Communications Unit.
