Firefighters from Lincolnshire Riverwoods responded to the northside of their fire district for a report of a house fire.
First units pulled up with heavy fire coming out of the garage and tried to hit it with there deck gun.
Command asked for a code 4 response which brought in several Northshore suburbs.
Firefighters were ordered out when the roof started to cave in and had heavy fire shooting out.
Firefighters worked several hand lines to try to knock this down but it was in the roof area and walls so command sent Northbrook Squad 12 in to try to pull ceilling and knock down the large amount of fire.
Firefighters worked for a couple of hours to contain this blaze.
Buffalo Grove, Countryside, Mundelein, Lake Forest, Northbrook, and Highwood companies provided mutual aid.
The fire is under investigation.
