On Saturday October 15, 2005, Firefighters, Police Officers, friends and family, came out to the Collingswood Fire Department to show their support.

A few months back, Collingswood Firefighter, Andy Staszewski, was diagnosed with cancer, at the age of 22. The event started in the morning and ran all day as people came to shave their heads.

Firefighters from Collingswood, Oaklyn, Cherry Hill, Gloucester City, Camden City, Westmont, Pennsauken, Haddon Heights and a few other towns, came to show their support. Donations reached around $3,500 for the day.

An account is being set up for Andy to pay his expenses as he undergoes his treatment.

Red wristbands which read, "Brotherhood-Staz" were sold as well.

The event was held so our brother did not have to go through this alone.

The fire service came together in a strong way on Saturday.

Anyone wishing to make a donation can do so by making a check out to: Professional Firefighters of Collingswood Local 108. You can drop it off at the firehouse or mail it in. Our address is 20 W. Collings Avenue, Collingswood, New Jersey, 08108. Also, wristbands are still available at the firehouse.
