Massive Blaze Hits Newburgh, New York

At approximately 4pm this afternoon, a warehouse operated by Prime Auto Supply, at the vicinity of Broadway and Wisner Avenue in the City of Newburgh, erupted into a massive blaze of fire.

At approximately 4pm this afternoon, a warehouse operated by Prime Auto Supply, at the vicinity of Broadway and Wisner Avenue in the City of Newburgh, erupted into a massive blaze of fire.

Duty Chief Scott Mandosky sounded a second alarm and initally attempted a defensive interior attack on the structure.

Unfortunately the fire grew and Chief Mandosky called for an exterior offensive battle plan, and a 3rd & 4th alarms were sounded.

Over 150 firefighters from 10 additional company's arrived on scene and fought a very heavy fire condition for over four hours.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. One from the City of Newburgh, who was taken to St. Lukes Hospital, and a second from the Dan Leghorn Engine Company of Orange Lake who was treated at the scene.

As of 11pm, there were still mop up crews tending to residual hot spots.
