This stubborn two alarm blaze broke out on September 18, 2003, just before 6 PM, at a strip mall on Academy and Palmer Park in Colorado Springs, CO.

Firefighters spent nearly six hours extinguishing the fire at this power equipment business. Initial efforts to attack the fire from within were thwarted by the impending collapse of the roof and the presence of numerous hazardous materials.

Aerial ladder trucks and heavy equipment were used to bring down collapsing walls and extinguish hidden fires.
