A bizarre suicide and murder attempt leaves firefighters with a serious challenge.

Law enforcement reported that a driver on Interstate-4 in Metro-Orlando embarked on a two-day murder-suicide effort that ended Monday, September 15.

It ended with his daughter drowned in a lake and three sons badly injured. The father deliberately drove his sports-utility vehicle into the path of a tractor-trailer on Interstate-4.

Firefighters from Longwood, Lake Mary, and Seminole County Fire Department, responded to the emergency and extricated the children from the vehicle, which was completely destroyed.

The two critical children were flown by Aircare, of Orlando Regional Medical Center, and Air Rescue 3, of Seminole County Fire Department, to the local trauma center.
