At 12:38 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2003, Rotterdam, NY Fire District 2 was dispatched for a reported structure fire.
Upon arrival, District 2 found heavy smoke coming from a one family house.
Rotterdam Fire District 6 was dispatched for Automatic Mutual Aid.
Multiple handlines were used to extinguish this stubborn fire that started in the basement and moved up the exterior wall of the residence.
Fire was declared under control at approximately 1:18 PM.
The source of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported from this fire while several cats and a dog were saved.
