NJ Firefighters Battle a House Fire

On Friday, September 5th, 2003, at approximately 1:45 PM, the Pennsauken Fire Department was dispatched to 5003 Chapel Avenue for a reported fire in the 2nd floor apartment.

On Friday, September 5th, 2003, at approximately 1:45 PM, the Pennsauken Fire Department was dispatched to 5003 Chapel Avenue for a reported fire in the 2nd floor apartment.

First arriving units encountered 60X40 2 story multi apartment complex with heavy fire showing in the rear of the dwelling. All occupants had been accounted for prior to the Fire Department arrvival by police and EMS.

Units went into service with 2 2 1/2" lines and crews went to the roof for ventilation.

Tower Ladder 1324 was the original FAST team, but was quickly placed into service at the scene. Command special called Engine Company 1111 as the next due FAST.

At 30 mins in, command reported bulk of the fire knocked down with crews in service with overhaul and ventilation.

Stations onlocation were 11-3, 11-6, 11-8, 1324, 1111, Field Com 1, CFM 10, and Canteen 1. The fire was placed under control at approximatly 3 PM.
