Structure Fire in Burbank, Illinois

On September 15th, The Burbank Illinois Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 5700 block of 79th street.

Upon arrival the first in engine reported heavy smoke and fire conditions at Chucks BBQ and southern cooking.

Within minutes of the first engine in's arrival, Battalion 2, arrived and assumed command. He requested his RIT and truck company response.

RIT was Roberts Park Fire Department and the first due truck was North Palos.

Shortly after change companies were requested. Considering the volume of fire, size of the buildings, and the lack of water supplies Battalion 2 requested a Mabas Division 21 Box Alarm response.

The first due engine on the box was Bedford Park which was to set up a supply line to North Palos Truck 804.

There was extensive damage on the roof where the two truck companies advanced hand lines.

All departments on the scene worked for about 2 hours with overhaul and investigations.
