Oceanside, New York Firefighters Fight Boat Fire

The Oceanside, New York Fire Department received calls for a boat fire at the marina off of Atlantic Avenue on August 3, 2003.

The chief confirmed a working boat fire and ordered his first due engine (2472) to put the hydrant up on the way in.

A line was pushed to the boat and the fire was knocked down.

A helicopter was requested for a burn victim. Engine-246 was assigned for the landing zone and the male was airlifted in serious condition.

All firefighting operations were under the command of Chief John Traverso.
