New Jersey Firefighters Battle Two Alarm House Fire

Shortly after 4pm on August 17, 2003 the Pennsauken Fire Dept. responded to a dwelling fire with reported people trapped.

Shortly after 4pm on August 17, 2003 the Pennsauken Fire Dept. responded to a dwelling fire with reported people trapped. Upon arrival of the chief, heavy smoke and fire was showing.

The second alarm was struck within minutes after arrival of the first engine. Searches found to be negative and all occupants were accounted for.

Mutual aid companies from Westmont and Camden City were brought in to help contain the blaze. The Philadelphia Arson Unit was called to the scene later to help determine the cause. It was noted that gas cans were found but the alarm did not sound until well into the job.

Two firefighters were injured.
