Units from the San Jose Fire Department responded to multiple reports of flames and smoke coming from a creek bed adjacent to a food processing plant and a large apartment complex at 475 Eggo Way on Saturday, September 17th.

Due to the heavy fuel load, breezy conditions, and the proximity of the fire to various structures the incident commander called for a full first alarm brush response.

Firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire before any structures were damaged and the fire was declared under control within a relatively short period of time.

Firefighters remained on the scene well after the flames had been doused to conduct extensive overhaul.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
