Church Fire in Tallahassee, Florida

Around 6pm, on September 5th, Tallahassee Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a church fire on Ausley Road, in the city.

First in units reported heavy smoke from several blocks away and requested a second alarm.

Arriving on scene, companies reported heavy smoke showing from the attic and rear roof line of the church. Shortly after, heavy fire conditions were visible from all sides of the building.

The fire quickly spread, and the decision was made to go to a defensive operation due to rapidly deteriorating conditions inside.

The building sustained major damage, and the fire was brought under control with no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
