Savannah, Georgia Firefighters Battle Blaze on Montgomery Street

On September 11, 2005, a fire broke out around 7am at a house on Montgomery Street.

While en route Battalion 1 reported smoke in the air.

Upon their arrival, Engine 1 advised fire blowing out of the first floor and smoke coming from the second floor. Fortunately, the occupants were able to make it out of the residence.

The fire was brought under control quickly, but not before it heavily damaged the house.

The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents.

A two-story business next door was also damaged in the fire. Investigators were called to ascertain the cause of the fire.
