Newark Firefighters Battle Commercial Building Fire

Newark Fire Department responded to the corner of 2nd Ave and Broadway for a fire in a commercial structure.

Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke coming from a bakery and a restaurant.

Truck companies went to work cutting open the roll up doors and vented the roof.

Engine companies stretched three lines and quickly knocked down bulk of the fire.

Fire started in the bakery and got into the cockloft of the whole building.

Fire was under control in 45min.
