Around 3:30pm on July 31st, the Southbury Volunteer Fire Dept. was dispatched to a structure fire.

Around 3:30pm on July 31st, the Southbury Volunteer Fire Dept. was dispatched to a structure fire. The Southbury Fire Dept. battled the rooftop blaze in the extreme heat of the summer afternoon. Mutual aid was called from the surrounding towns of Woodbury, Roxbury, Middlebury, and Newtown.

The Southbury Firefighters through an aggressive attack were able to prevent the spread of the fire into the main section of the structure. The rest of the home sustained minimal damage from the fire.
