Sept. 13, 2005
Initial reports indicated heavy smoke was showing and all responding units were prepared for a "working" fire.

Lehigh County's South Whitehall Township Fire Crews were busy Wednesday, September 7th from 11pm through 2am. Around 11pm, three cars collided on West Tilghman Street in the township close to the overpass of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Rescue crews and equipment were required to remove one of the vehicle's occupants for treatment and transportation by Cetronia Ambulance Corps. Units.

Within 30 minutes of wrapping up the rescue call, a fire was reported at the Carrabba's restaurant at the intersections of South Cedar Crest Blvd. and Hamilton Boulevard Bypass.

Once on scene with equipment placed and ready for use, it was determined the fire originated in the area of the restaurant's pizza oven.

The resulting heavy smoke made it appear as if there was a large volume of fire somewhere in the building.

Both incidents occurred in Cetronia's fire district with additional South Whitehall fire apparatus and firefighters responding from Greenawalds and Woodlawn fire depts. as well as Cetronia Ambulance Corps.

All units were released and back in station by 2am.
