Bullville, New York Fire Department Hosts State Bus Extrication Class

On Monday August 22nd and Tuesday August 23rd, The Bullville Fire Department hosted a Bus Extrication Class with New York State Instructor G. Bassler at its station on Route 17K.

Bullville, NY - On Monday August 22nd and Tuesday August 23rd, The Bullville Fire Department hosted a Bus Extrication Class with New York State Instructor G. Bassler at its station on Route 17K.

Monday night was all classroom instruction and Tuesday night students got hands on experience with cutting up an old school bus. In addition to members of the Bullville Fire Department the class was attended by members of the Coldenham, Walden, Howells & Slate Hill Fire Departments.

Students recieved hands on training in stabilization and entry into an upright bus as well as stabilization and entry of an overturned bus. Firefighters were split into several teams and given tasks to perform utilizing any of the tools available to them.

Many valuable lessons were learned by all in attendence.
