Montgomery, New York Firefighters Respond to Multiple Alarm House Fire

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. August 27th, the Montgomery Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire on Roosevelt Avenue, in the Village.

MONTGOMERY. NY - Shortly before 1:30 p.m. August 27th, the Montgomery Fire Department was alerted for a structure fire at 97 Roosevelt Avenue, in the Village.

Orange County 9-1-1 Dispatchers advised responding units of multiple calls for a working fire with an explosion.

Incident Command Chief James Ferguson immediately requested a 2nd alarm and arrived a short time later.

The Maybrook, Coldenham & Walden Fire Departments responded to the scene to assist Montgomery, along with an ambulance from the Town of Montgomery Volunteer Ambulance.

An aggressive interior attack led to a quick knockdown of the main body of fire which heavily damaged the home.

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Orange County Arson Investigation Unit.
