Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue in Bradenton, Florida was dispatched to a fire at 5802 14th Street W at 4:27 am on August 27, 2005.

Upon arrival of first due E-211, Lt. Steve LaPlante reported a working fire. Fire was coming out of the roof of the Sizzling Platter restaurant. Captain Mike DeChelbor called for a second alarm, and subsequently a third alarm.

Fire Chief Randy Stulce arrived on scene and assumed command.

The restaurant was completely destroyed by the early morning fire. The most recent business name was Sizzling Platter scheduled to open in September, but this building has been home to many restaurant including, Marco Polo, Trolley Station, Sarasota Brewing Company, Socials, and Crabby Bills.

A three alarm fire, 9 engines, 2 aerials, and 45 personnel responded to the scene. Fire Crews successfully stopped the fire from encroaching on the adjoining businesses. The fire was declared under control at 05:20. Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue was assisted by Southern Manatee and City of Bradenton Fire Departments.

Investigators from CHFR and the State Fire Marshals Office are investigating.
