On Thursday July 24, 2003 a commercial building burned in Ann Arbor Michigan.
The downtown fire consumed a block long structure that was scheduled for demolition.
The fire required the commitment of all on duty Ann Arbor companies as well as mutual aid companies from the Pittsfield Township and Ypsilanti Fire Departments.
Numerous master streams, as well as several aerial platforms were used in containing the fire, and keeping exposures from burning.
The fire burned throughout the night and into the next day.
Heavy equipment was used on the day following the fire to complete extinguishment and overhaul.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
