Pennsylvania Firefighters Fight Car Fire

This car fire was on Upper Gyp Road, Benner Township, Centre County PA on July 29th.

This car fire was on Upper Gyp Road, Benner Township, Centre County PA on July 29th. Upon arrival, firefighters found an abandoned car fully involved with some weeds on fire as well. Logan Fire Company Chief Todd Hann responded in Rescue Engine 114 and Undine Fire Company Engine 112 and Tanker 219 responded. Pleasant Gap Fire Company sent tanker 819 as their equipment was at a two-alarm mutual aid call with another company.

Logan engine 114 was the first on the scene and laid a 3 1/2" line and had the fire extinguished in a few minutes. The State Police Fire Marshal was called in to investigate what is being described as an arson fire. All three companies were on the scene for about 30 minutes. This was the 3rd fully involved car fire in five days for the Bellefonte Fire Department.
