Toledo, Ohio firefighters battle a 2nd alarm fire in a grain conveyer system in the 1800 block of Water St. along the banks of the Maumee River. Fire ran up the conveyer system and entered in a structure where the grain is stored and processed.

Quick aggressive action by Toledo firefighters kept the fire from spreading too far in the structure. A 500 gallon plastic storage tank located near the conveyer system melted down spilling 500 gallons of mineral oil to ground which caught fire sending a plume of thick black smoke that could be seen 25 miles away.

Two of Toledo's newest engines E3 and E6 equipped with an on board foam system proved very worth while as the mineral fire was quickly extinguished. There were no injuries at this fire.
