Glendale and Phoenix, Arizona Bravest Fight Fire in Cool 105 Degree Weather

Glendale and Phoenix, Arizona fire departments responded to a Glendale, Arizona house fire on the evening of Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at approximately 1745 hours.

A large column of smoke was seen enroute and the call was balanced to a working fire.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire from what appeared to be a vacant house with a basement.

Conditions warranted that the fire be fought defensively.

Handlines were deployed to protect exposures and assist in fire control until master streams could be set up.

The house was a complete loss and there were injuries to report.

The temperature on this afternoon, a cool 105 degrees.
