Lynn, Massachusetts Firefighters Battle 2- Alarm Blaze

Upon arrival, first due units transmitted a second alarm when they found a large, 2 1/2 story wood frame building with heavy smoke and fire showing.

Lynn, Massachusetts firefighters were called to a reported fire at 532 Boston Ave. at around 2pm, on Tuesday, August 2, 2005.

Upon arrival, first due units transmitted a second alarm when they found a large, 2 1/2 story wood frame building with heavy smoke and fire showing.

The building housed commercial stores on the first floor and residential apartments on the second floor.

Fire investigators stated that a possible cause was from a cooking fire that got out of control in the kitchen of a second floor apartment.

Firefighters were hampered in the fight to extinguish the fire by 90 degree heat and heavy fire conditions.

At least one firefighter was transported to the hospital, but no occupants of the building were reported injured.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Lynn Arson Squad.
