Structure Fire in Guntersville, Alabama

Guntersville Fire/Rescue and Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 12:47 pm, in the Pleasant Grove Community of Marshall County, Alabama.

Units arrived on-scene to a residential farm house well involved on B/C corner of the structure.

Lt. Paul Stanford from Guntersville Engine 3 established command, ordered an aggressive initial attack while a 5-inch LDH supply line was being set up. After a brief initial attack, the ceilings began to fall, which revealed the fire had extended to the entire attic.

Crews were ordered to initiate a defensive attack using multiple handlines from the exterior.

After approximately 3-4 minutes, the roof of the structure collapsed.

Operating at the scene were Guntersville Fire/Rescue, Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Marshall Health System EMS and Guntersville Police Department.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Alabama State Fire Marshal's Office.
