New York Firefighters Extricate Driver From Crash

On Wednesday, June 11th, 2003, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office dispatched Jonesville Fire Department to the intersections of Ushers Road and Interstate 87 for a reported two car MVA with entrapment.

On Wednesday, June 11th, 2003, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office dispatched Jonesville Fire Department to the intersections of Ushers Road and Interstate 87 for a reported two car MVA with entrapment.

First arriving unit Rescue 373 found a two car T-bone accident involving a SUV and a four door car. The car had heavy to damage to the passenger side of the vehicle with approximately 1-2 feet intrusion in the passenger compartment. The drive side of the vehicle was pinned up against the guardrail with no access to that side of the vehicle with the driver entrapped.

It was determined that a full roof removal was the only way to gain access to the patient do to the severity of the damage to the passenger side doors.

The extrication took approximately 19 minutes, the patient was transported by Malta Ambulance to Albany Medical center with believed to be non life threaten injuries.
