NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - At approximately 2pm, on August 1st, The New Haven Fire Department battled a blaze in a 2 1/2 story wood frame structure located on West Street.
First in units rescued two residents via ground ladders and the fire immediately went from the basement through the roof.
A second alarm was struck and companies went to an exterior attack.
